Thought I would share a photo of some wonderful gardenias floating in a crystal bowl I took a few days ago. These sweet flowers with a hint of jasmine filled the room with a luxurious scent for a couple of days.
Here is a photo. I only wish I could upload the scent as well...someday maybe.

Flowers in Bloom
Pin It
Soon it will be the fabulous May and I found a little blooming flower gif to share. Since April's post had a gif, I thought I would continue on with another...here is a pretty blooming flower. I want to make some gifs whenever I get extra time...
Hope everyone is enjoying Spring, we are getting lots of rain this weekend which is wonderful news. I planted some morning glories, "Heaveny Blue", (my favorites) on the 18th and they are already up 2" high. I am amazed. I used this super organic worm tea when I planted them and some rich organic compost. After these soaking rains we are getting, these little cuties will be ready to vine!

Pinterest is on my mind. Is there something in the brain that eats images of things we love like candy, demanding more, more, more? There must be and the good folks at Pinterest have managed to create the perfect website for capitalizing on this human attribute. But I am not quite sure how they are capitalizing on the addictive quality of Pinterest since there are no ads, fees, etc... Will Pinterest cost later after everyone is madly hooked? Will there be ads? Are there already ads mingled about - covert ads that are not revealed simply sprinkled strategically about? Does Pinterest profit from the analytics gleaned from Pinning junkies? Everytime I click that I like a cute Jack Russell puppy does Pinterest add my keystroke into the great continium of Jack Russell lovers becoming a statistic sold to an advertising company? I have no answers only questions and I would write more but I have to get back to pinning...
Happy day to you all!

Lace Window View: Frozen New England
Pin It
Hello to all.
I am finally posting a little note. Holidays were hectic, exciting, and fun, in other words, typical. I thought I would be staying in for New Years Eve, but last minute had me gong to New York to ring in 2012 in Times Square. Wow! was that ever an experience. Throngs of "revelers", as we were called, as the awesome NYPD corralled us into holding pens awaiting the ball drop. Entertainment was great and I made some new friends in my coral. All in all a fab evening. I did get one of the swag bags the Nivea people were tossing out - inside were those Nivea blue, tall hats that you saw everyone wearing on TV, however I gave mine away to a kid on the way out. I did keep the awesome Nivea lip balm that came in the bag in a cool carrier hooked onto a lanyard. I have used the lip stuff incessantly and think it is a great set up for snowboarding or skiing since you can wear the lip balm around your neck, ready for whenever you need it without fumbling in your pockets.
Onto other things. I finally got back and sat up my booth at Art Angels Arts and Antique Market and was pretty pleased with how it looks. I have since changed it a smidge after finding a great hutch I painted this great color called coquille. I will have some pics soon, but I have been in whirlwind ever since I returned and have not really stopped since (except for now).
While I was in New York I picked up a few things for my booth. My favorite item I brought back are these beautiful opera glasses made in Paris circa 1920s. They are pink mother of pearl, made by the Lemaire Fi company and they still work fine. They came in this great black leather case that is lined with red satin. There is a tiny metal bee on the closure. They are in my booth awaiting a new home. I really hope someone gets them soon as I am tempted to keep them for myself.
I have totally neglected my Etsy shops and will be working on them in the coming days, (I hope). If you are in the Central Florida, area, stop by Art Angels and have a look around the place. It is awesome! You will love all the great treasures and the people there are wonderful.
This picture I have uploaded is looking out an icy window with lace panels. I played around in iPhoto to arrive at the picture with plans to use it in a digital collage somewhere sown the pike. It was a beautiful cold day looking out the window of a partially frozen lake. It all seemed surreal that I could look at the icy scene and be in sunny Florida the next day wearing flip flops and shorts. Oh, science and technology...
you gotta love them!
Enjoy your week!

Deer - White Painted Treasure
Pin It
A few days ago I stopped in one of my favorite resale charity shops and found this little deer. It was covered in white paint and since I am not an antique aficionado I was not aware it could have been a collectible, I just liked the shape and the fact it is a deer - I love deer. Anyhow, I paid one dollar for it and happily left. I started looking it over and and read Roselane, Pasedena, California on the bottom and also noted the bottom showed signs of a gray ceramic glaze. I looked up Roselane on the Internet and was so excited to see photos of my little deer and read about the history of the Roselane company which started out in the home of William and Georgia Fields in the mid to late 1930s. I tried paint thinner but the coat of white barely budged so I sprayed oven cleaner on and the paint washed right off revealing this gorgeous shade of gray...I fell deeper in love! It is so inspiring that I may have to sculpt some in cold porcelain and even paint something using this beautiful deco shape. Deco is not my thing, but I do appreciate the streamlined simplicity it offers and believe a piece here and there is awesome, especially if it is a bird or deer : )
Happy Holidays to all from me and my new little friend!
